Oral cancer is highly treatable when caught early, and screening is quick, painless, and usually part of your regular check-up. If it’s been a while since anyone looked, this is one of the simplest good decisions you can make for your health.
Most people never think about oral cancer, and that’s mostly fine; it’s not common. Two things are worth knowing calmly:
That’s the honest picture. Not scary, just worth a few minutes at your check-up.
What you get
A visual and physical examination of your mouth, tongue, cheeks, throat and neck. A few minutes, no discomfort.
Screening is part of a thorough dental exam here, not an upsell.
Exam-based screening falls under CDCP-covered diagnostic services for eligible patients. (Adjunct light-based screening tools are excluded from CDCP; if we recommend one, we’ll tell you the cost plainly first.)
Most findings are benign; anything uncertain gets referred promptly to the right specialist, explained calmly.
What happens
We examine the soft tissues of your mouth, tongue, throat and neck.
Usually: nothing of concern. You’ll hear that plainly too.
we explain it calmly, refer promptly, and stay in your corner. Early attention is the whole point of screening.
